Description:

Ambiance & Radiance Colors Suite An enhanced version of the Ubuntu Themes in 13 Amazing New Colors With many other new features. Works On Ubuntu, Mint, Arch, Debian Or Any Distro. Now Featuring Gnome Shell Support in the 15.04 version!

Now With Full Support for GTK 3.14 & 3.16. Ubuntu 15.04, Debian 8, Linux Mint Debian 2, Arch, OpenSuse, Fedora and more! Plus better GnomeShell support in 15.04 build. And of coerce we still have Full support of 14.04 LTS branch.

15.04.3 Update, August 2015. Lots of fixes and optimizations for GTK 3.16. Ubuntu 15.10, Fedora 22, Debian Testing, OpenSUSE. Much Better GnomeShell support. No more uglyness when scrolling. There is still some more work to be done (But no major show stopper stuff we hope.)

"ZRAVE" Beautiful Symboless Window Buttons are back! for 15.04+ users! (Symboless Works on all desktops expect for GnomeShell) Just select Ambiance-ZRAVE-ColorYouWant Or Radiance-ZRAVE-ColorYouWant

This Theme Supports Most GTK 2/3 Desktops:
Including full and tested support for: Unity, Cinnamon, Gnome Classic, Gnome 2 (Mate), XFCE ,LXDE & Openbox desktops. Gnome Shell is now fully supported in 15.04 version and newer.

Features:

This Theme Fully Supports:
Ubuntu 15.04, 14.10 & 14.04. Linux Mint 17, Linux Mint Debian 2, Debian 8 And Linux Or BSD Distros With GTK Versions 3.10, 3.12, 3.14 & 3.16+

We try go above and beyond to make this theme work on most desktops. We already support many. Alot more then most. This takes us a bit longer but we feel it is worth it.

We have just added Full Gnome Shell Support in the 15.04 version and newer.

New Unified Window Borders, Menus, and tool-bars for all desktops. (With Almost Unified on OpenBox and LXDE)

Fixes a issue where XFCE Window borders would not display properly on Fedora, Arch and OpenSUSE or any non Debian Distro.

Other Fixes and enhancements for XFCE Users & MATE Users

Full support for Nemo File Manager & The Cinnamon Desktop.Completely integrated support.

Dark sidebar for Nautilus/Files & Nemo.

2 New (Optional) Window Border Themes Available for Mate and XFCE with Classic Big Window Borders For easier resizing. 4PX wide as apposed to 1PX. This is for use on MATE and XFCE without Compiz if you have issues with the window border resize area being too small. A issue that was introduced with all new themes with "Borderless" Window Themes.

Caja window tab - font not visible in Icon mode

by PGG on: Dec 14 2014

Score 50%

Upgrade from Mint 17 Mate to Mint 17.1 Mate all OK, except...

For the Window Appearance I use [RAVEfinity] "Ambiance-Orange" with Ubuntu font to get back to the Ubuntu 10.04 look.

Now, in Caja, opening initial file manager window view OK, but when opening a new tab, default displaying as Icon mode, the caption font is not visible, greyed out, or only the faint shadow emphasis. Changing to list mode the font is perfectly OK, in Compact view the font again is not visible. All subsequent tabs opened exhibit the same behaviour. Only in Caja file manager, all other applications OK.

There is some disscussion on the Mint Forum: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=206&t=184732

Thanks for your comment and report on this. I will look into getting this fixed, Not sure why this broke for you on a small update to 17.1. Gonna do my best.

Small workaround: Try dragging a background color into caja under backround preferences.

 Ubuntu MATE context menu appearance

Some context menus don't have solid background color. For example, you can see it clicking on trash icon on the panel(not desktop). I hope I'm not alone with this problem. Please, fix it.

Thanks for your comment on this.

Unfortunately this is a long running issue that appeared a few years ago in stock ambiance. It has something to do with MATE (And Gnome 2 back in the day) Using the panel background instead of a menu background for those menus. I can check what can be done again but If I recall changing it made part of the panel a solid color and not use a panel image. But things may have changed and I might be able to find a way to fix I will see what can be done about it.

One other thing of note is this is not a issue on Ambiance & Radiance Flat because it does not use a panel image just a solid color.

A bug in Mint 17.2 Cinnamon

Thanks for all the great work!

There's just one thing I came across - when I apply any Ambiance/Radiance Colors or Ambiance Blackout Colors theme (specifically, in the Controls section, pic 1), and select an item on the Desktop, its icon turns completely black (making it invisible on a dark background) and there's no shading around the text (2, 3). As usual, it's a bit lighter with right-click, but still too dark (4). Other themes remain unaffected (5, 6).
Apparently, it's a bug only in Mint 17.2 Cinnamon (either upgraded or freshly installed). Not in 17.1 or 17. Not in Mate, for example. Also, only on the Desktop, not inside a file manager (7, 8), and with any icon theme (default or custom) applied.

The pics:

Thanks for letting me know about this. 17.2 is supported by our the 14.04.8 branch. Its nearly 1 year old GTK code now so I figured they would leave it alone but I guess they are trying to add new stuff or change how nemo works. I am gonna have to backtrack to fix this. The issue is I don't want it to break other desktops since Mint and Cinnamon are the only ones who changed this it may pose issues to other desktops if I change what needs to be changed.

But I will test and do my best to get a fix out very soon. Thanks for the heads up.

Ok I spoke with the Mint guys and they where super helpful. I found the fix and it was super trivial it's bassily Cinnamon expects the selected color to be defined as "theme_selected_bg_color" but some themes define it as "selected_bg_color" They may fix this in a later Cinnamon update but in the mean time we can fix it on our end. Hope to do that soon. Thanks again I was running LMDE so I did not come across this.

Thanks! It works awesome. I'm glad it wasn't a more complicated issue.
If you could just update the Ambiance Blackout Colors Suite too, that would be perfect.

Cheers!
